The New York Knicks have decided not to extend the $6.3 million qualifying offer to Precious Achiuwa, which will make him an unrestricted free agent. The Knicks have interest in re-signing Achiuwa, but doing so at $6.3 million would have made a major impact on their ability to stay under the hard cap.

In 49 games after he was acquired by the Knicks from the Toronto Raptors, Achiuwa averaged 7.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists. 

Achiuwa, who was the 20th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft, is represented by Raymond Brothers.

I’m not sure about this move. iHart is bound to leave… must have Precious as insurance. If he signs a four year, $20 million deal with a team option for the fourth year, then Knicks would come out ahead.

There aren't a lot of suiters for IHart. OKC was the biggest competitor to make him a big offer, who knows if they'll make a big offer now.

Who else with cp space, a willingness to spend, and a need for a big is out there?

IHart, I hope will return to the Knicks. As for Precious, he deserves a shot as a regular rotation guy somewhere. I would love to see him back in NY but he's good enough to be playing 20 mins. game somewhere and competing for a starting spot. (and earning that type of money).
