The Utah Jazz have interest in pursuing Paul George this offseason, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports. The Jazz have enough cap space and surplus draft capital to attempt to entice George to pick them by simultaneously acquiring one or two more pieces along with him and Lauri Markkanen. The Clippers similarly landed in George and Kawhi Leonard in 2019 when they traded for the former from the Oklahoma City Thunder and then signed the latter in free agency.
The Jazz attempted a similar path last week when they made a trade offer to the Brooklyn Nets for Mikal Bridges.
Utah owns multiple future first round picks from the Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers from the Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell trades.
Fischer writes that the scenario "is quite fascinating, although incredibly unlikely George makes it a reality."

lmao this is so dumb. Move the farm to get pieces to entice a 33 year old declining 2nd option?

I appreciate Danny Ainge selling this fiction to the fans and Ryan Smith that the Jazz are going “big game hunting” but come on.

Probably Carlos Boozer but that was more so that CLE being the dump cheap management under Gordon Gund hoping they can trick Boozer to take less money. Boozer bamboozled them and became free agent UTA offered him more than CLE could because of the CBA. Not sure any other star ever chose UTA since

The actual article states that in the Jazz dreamiest scenario they wanted to pursue additional star players, a fact which they announced months ago. I seriously doubt the Jazz have any interest in George and I doubt their plan is trading all their assets for a short term, low probability chance at winning.

It's even worse. PG is actually 35, not 33, but you are correct this makes no sense for Utah based on his age and where the franchise currently is positioned. He also wants a 4 year deal.
I don't get it, but maybe Ainge is playing 4-D chess?

Well it depends on who they pursue. I've heard that Bradley Beal guy is awesome and great friends with pg13.
Utah should send Phoenix some picks and see if they can pry Beal loose.....
