LeBron James Likely To Start As Point Forward For United States
LeBron James is likely to be in the starting lineup for the United States in the 2024 Olympics, sources tell The Athletic. James will likely play point forward as a starter with Stephen Curry moving off the ball. Curry, Joel Embiid and Kevin Durant are considered locks for the starting lineup, which leaves James and either Kawhi Leonard or Anthony Davis for the other two spots. James last played for the United States in the 2012 Olympics and his game has changed dramatically over the past 12 years, especially on defense.
Steve Kerr generally likes to play smaller when he can, but their lack of size was an issue last summer in the World Cup. This could lead Kerr to going with Davis over Leonard in the starting lineup.
The remaining six players on the roster, Jrue Holiday, Devin Booker, Tyrese Haliburton, Bam Adebayo, Anthony Edwards and Jayson Tatum, all have compelling arguments to receive regular playing time as well.
