Dan Hurley has agreed to a new six-year, $50 million contract extension with UConn that runs through the 29-30 season. Hurley received the contract after turning town a six-year, $70 million deal to become head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Hurley, who is coming off back-to-back championships with UConn, has the opportunity to receive performance incentives throughout the contract. In June 2023, Hurley signed a six-year, $32.1 million extension with UConn.

Hurley was hired by UConn in 2018 after a nine-season run coaching St. Benedict's Prep, followed by Wagner and Rhode Island.

Hysterical. I mean, he obviously did not want the Laker job, but leaving 20M on the table is a lot. Seems UConn got a big discount based on his unwillingness to leave.

First Klay and now Hurley. Seems like dudes rather take less money than go to Lebron's Lakers. Used to have dumbasses take discounts to go to Lebron.

Before Lebron came the lakers were a dumpster fire they signed Lou Deng and Timothy Mozgov as their big free agent signings. They spent a decade out of the playoffs. LeBron came got AD to come and win a title.. As for Hurley lakers lowballed this if he was leaving it needed to be 100mil and they didnt do it.. If you dont understand this then noone can help you.

He would of left for a 40mil difference though so if lakers offered 100mil he would of been gone..
