Pelicans, Karlo Matkovic Agree To Three-Year, $4.9M Deal

The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a three-year, $4.9 million contract with Matkovic. The Pelicans originally drafted Matkovic with the 22nd pick in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft.
Last season, Matkovic left KK Cedevita Olimpija to join the Birmingham Squadron of the G League. With the Pelicans G League affiliated, Matkovic averaged 17.3 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 10 games.
New Orleans has been looking for cost-effective front-court depth this offseason. Matkovic will help give the Pelicans another big body at the center position.
