The NBA's new media rights deals with NBC, Amazon, and Disney will not include matching rights, according to Mike Vorkunov and Andrew Marchand of The Athletic.

Warner Bros. Discovery reportedly intends on matching Amazon's portion of the new media rights deal.

Disney, NBC, and Amazon will pay the NBA around $75 billion over 11 years, with Amazon's portion coming to $1.8 billion a year.

What the hell is this 'article'? Mind clarifying anything for your dear readers?

"The NBA's new media rights deals will not include matching rights. Warner Bros. Discovery intends on matching."

If there's not matching rights, can they match? You confused me on a situation that was not confusing before.

The old deal had matching rights that's allowing Warner to match one of the new deals. However, going forward, this new deal doesn't have any matching provisions. So, in 11 years when it's up, if a company wants to make a bid, one of the other companies wouldn't have the right to match like Warner does now.

Thanks! I re-read the article understanding this now, but it really doesn't seem to convey that.
