The Boston Celtics and Sam Hauser have agreed to a four-year, $45 million extension. Hauser will now be under contract through the 2028-29 season.

Hauser has become one of the NBA's best three-point shooters. He shot 42.4% on 5.9 three-point attempts per game last season. The 6-foot-8 wing also set a career-high by grabbing 3.5 rebounds in 22 minutes per game.

Boston's payroll will now be in the range of $225 million for next season with over $200 million in tax penalties. Overall, the Celtics have committed to over $964 million in contract extensions over the last year for Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and now Hauser.

Seems steep. I remember times in the playoffs when it was like the Celtics couldn't even play dude.

You act like you have to write the check or something. The Celtics have the opportunity to win two more championships with this group, so why not reward him.
