Jazz Interest In Brandin Podziemski Keeping Lauri Markkanen Trade Possible

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jul 22, 2024 5:43 am

The Utah Jazz's interest in Brandin Podziemski is serious enough to keep the possibility of a Lauri Markkanen trade alive, sources told Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

It is believed that the Warriors prefer trading Jonathan Kuminga instead of Podziemski.

The rumored trade offers for Markkanen include Moses Moody and draft compensation without including Kuminga or Podziemski.

Markkanen becomes eligible to renegotiate-and-extend his current deal on August 6.

I personally don't think the Jazz should trade Markkanen, but if they do they should get exactly what they want for him. Otherwise just keep him and extend him. They already have a boatload of draft picks coming and Lauri's skill set is good enough and unique enough that he will always be in demand. I get it that they are rebuilding, but when do you quit the tank and start trying to win? The fans deserve better than what they have gotten the last 2 or 3 years.

Exactly what Ainge wants for him would be 9 firsts and three young prospects. Nobody ever gets exactly what they want.

Ainge needs to decide what combination of picks/players is the least he would take and work from there. Not all picks are created equal. I think the GSW pick have more value than many because Steph is old, the West is deep and they are always one kick-in-the-groin away from a very long Draymond suspension.

While they are clearly a step down on the court right now, Kuminga and Podziemski are both 5 years younger than Markkanen and fit the UTH timeline better. UTH is a long ways away from relevance.

Mike Dunleavy Jr. pooping himself and paralyzed on what decision to make. Otherwise this deal woulda already been done. W's are fd without Bob Meyers.

Are the Warriors really letting BRANDIN PODZIEMSKI (who couldn't even keep his starting spot after benching Klay) hold up this trade for a versatile ALL-STAR BIG IN HIS PRIME while you still have Steph Curry playing at a high level? You've gotta be kidding me. Get this deal done or you're gonna lose Steph too. Steph wants to WIN NOW not wait for the youngins to develop.

Steph, Lauri and Buddy would be fun to watch.

Splash Triplets.
