Jayson Tatum's mother, Brandy Cole, was critical of her son's lack of playing time following the United States' 95-91 win over Serbia. Steve Kerr didn't play Tatum for the second time during the Olympics.

“Someone pls let me know is @jaytatum0 injured as he hasn’t received the PT ( playing time ) u would expect an All NBA player to get,” Dick Vitale wrote.

“No he not,” Cole replied. “But if you find out what’s going on please let me know – unacceptable and makes NO SENSE.”

Cole also reposted a message on X, “If Kerr is watching this and willingly deciding ‘Yeah, Jayson Tatum couldn’t help here’ then he legitimately cannot coach in 2028,” by Barstool Sports’ Dan Greenberg.

I don't usually chat, but dude, STFU Mama Tatum. Your boy is not as good as Lebron, Steph, KD or even Edwards and Embiid or individually. Just because the Celtics won the title doesn't mean your boy gets preferential treatment. You need role players to balance a roster and compliment the alphas of the team, and Tatum doesn't do that. Heck, Brown would have been a better fit. It's not rocket science. The Celtics won the title because of said balance and fit, not because your boy was the god alpha of all alphas and blew his load all over everybody.

He’s not? That’s what the mom is arguing. Out of that bunch, he’s the only ALL NBA first team player and the only American to be considered in the top 5 range after all the international (Jokic, Luka, Shai, freak)

Whining wont help his reputation, but at the same time not playing him is a total joke.

This reminds me of Little League baseball parents vying for their children, except this is not Kansas anymore. This is not a good look for Tatum. Probably should have stayed home and let Brown participate in Team USA. If you can't understand the concept of a team structure, never mind.

How is Tatum's mother's opinion even remotely newsworthy? Of course somebody's going to say that about their kid.

I hate when fam speaks on things they shouldn't. Now,Momma Durant could've but She AND KD knew what was best for Team USA unlike Momma Tatum. Also,who REALLY thinks Tatum is/was Celtics BEST OPTION the last 2yrs besides him bc imho It Was Brown

This right here, this shows how those who would normally be ignored now have a voice. Parents speak about their kids and if you can't understand that then you obviously had poor upbringing. JT most definitely SHOULD be in every game but politics and idiocy got in the way.

This Team USA was built around LBJ, KD, and Steph(with Embiid/AD/Bam as bigs). The reality is that Jrue, Ant, and Booker are better fits around that core even though Tatum is likely the better player.

Tatum just should just look forward to 2028 when he'll be one of the focal points.

No tatum is not a top 5 player he is not better than lebron or KD or kawhi for that matter he didnt even play well in the finals and they won he was no super star.
