Nuggets Interested In Vasilije Micic

The Denver Nuggets reportedly have interested in Vasilije Micic of the Charlotte Hornets. Micic is close friends with Nuggets star Nikola Jokic. The two are teammates on the Serbian national team.

Micic is owed $7.7 million for this season. That makes trading for him a tricky endeavor for Denver, as the Nuggets are already over the first apron. That means Denver can only send back equal to or more than Micic's salary. Micic's contract contains an $8.1 million team option for the 2025-26 season.

The veteran point guard played well for the Hornets, after being acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder at the trade deadline. Micic averaged 10.8 points and 6.2 assists while starting in 21 of the 30 games he played for Charlotte.

How bad do they want him? Porter for G. Williams, Micic, and Green.

That would be terrible for Denver, Porter is a key player, I don't think they trade Porter away for a player that will essentially take Jamal Murray's minutes on the bench at best, which are not that much. Williams and Green cannot fill the gap that will be left if Porter is gone and they already lost KCP

This would be a really good addition for Denver. Micic is a far better player than Reggie Jackson who he would be replacing. Just a lot smarter and balanced offensively in general and a far better shooter. As for trading MPJ for him, thats obviously nonsensical.

MPJ has made tremendous slides last year by adding a credible drive threat to his 3 point shooting and he definitely hasnt reached his limit yet. If he can add a workable floater and passable passing from his penetrations, it will put a lot more pressure on opposing defenses. If he has put things together over the offseason and can show this improvement during the first part of the regular season, Denver should be able to trade him for a far more attractive package that could push them over the hill.

But what to do with Aaron Gordon? Relying so much on his athleticism, he is bound to decline and Minnesota showed us how to effectively defend the Jokic/Gordon combination.

Anyway, I would love to see Micic on the Denver squad!

If this headline is serious, which I doubt it is, how do the Nuggets acquire Micic? There is the other side of this conversation.
Charlotte seems to be making better decisions these days, and Micic is a good piece for them now. It is almost certain they will pick up his team option after the season. Perhaps this article is just suggesting the Nuggets are interested in Micic in July of 2026.

Don't worry about that buddy, Klay Thompson was aquired via 6 teams trade, if Denver wants Micic they can do something similar, involve a few teams and he can fit into their cap space. What will they offer, maybe some picks to some team that wants to offload a player and that player will go to Charlotte and etc.
