The Utah Jazz have discussed trades for Walker Kessler, sources confirmed to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report.

Kessler was reportedly a target for the Knicks earlier this offseason.

Kessler lost playing time throughout last season and does not appear to be part of the long-term plan for the Jazz.

It would be a perfect fit he and the Knicks. But New York simply had no assets after the trade for Bridges

Somehow, the other team GMs are unwilling to give up their firstborn as sacrifice to Danny Ainge.

Danny Ainge wants 3 first round picks, 3 pick swaps, and cash considerations.

His reputation still elevates the value of his players though. Because of that reputation GMs don't make the call unless they have a package that they think he might take, which ends up being close to what the initial rumor was, which usually sounded inflated. I think he can get a job on whatever team he wants. Owners love a GM like this.

Do you have any proof of this? I think it’s way more likely that GMs avoid trading with Danny because they know he’s going to not just try to win the trade but massively screw them over. But that’s just my perception, not based in fact.

And it's just my perception as well. But if 9 of 10 GMs think you're nuts and the 10th GM gives you exactly what you wanted who cares if 9 of them thought you were crazy is all I'm saying.

Until 10/10 won't pick up the phone when you call.

For someone GM's don't want to trade with, Danny Ainge sure makes a lot of trades.

My guess is that Ainge is widely respected throughout the league.

Ainge must have lots of Championships won if he wins every trade by a landslide

Kessler is doubly anointed, desired by Ainge, and selected by Tim Connelly, who has a great reputation selecting later in the draft.

That may not always be the measure though. Forgot what they call them but similar to Gordon Gecko, he comes in strips the whole thing bare by getting the most value from existing assets and then bounces while the next regime rebuilds. Or at least that COULD be his value. Thankfully my team isn't at that stage but when we were I would've loved to have Ainge as my GM. Meanwhile I got a multiple time allstar and one time all nba- player who's a walking double double that people feel has negative value......and the team actually wins.

Huh? Strips them down and bounces?

Ainge's only prior Executive job was with BOS. He was in that position for 18 years and he left them ready to win with one of the strongest rosters in the NBA.
