T.J. McConnell, Pacers Agree To Four-Year, $45M Extension

T.J. McConnell and the Indiana Pacers have agreed to a four-year, $45 million contract extension that will run through the 28-29 season. McConnell had been under contract for $9.3 million for the 2024-25 season and now is tied to the Pacers for five years and $54 million.

McConnell is one of the NBA's more productive backup point guards.

The Pacers now have Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembhard and Obi Toppin on long-term deals.

Why test the market? He enjoys living in Indiana, Rick gives him great quality minutes, and he enjoys being a backup. No, reason to look for more money, and be in a worst situation.

He looked better than Haliburton for a bunch of games last season. What a steal.

Nothing to be shocked about as this was expected. TJ likes it here and knows that he has a good thing going. The Pacers like TJ and intend to keep him around after his playing career if he so chooses.
