Jimmy Butler Reportedly 'Likes Brooklyn'

Jimmy Butler could become a free agent next offseason and "likes Brooklyn," source close to him tell Brian Lewis of the New York Post.
Butler has a player option for 25-26 after he and the Miami Heat were unable to agree to terms on a contract extension. Butler joined the Heat from the Philadelphia 76ers in a 2019 sign-and-trade.
Butler signed a four-year, $181 million extension with the Heat during the 2021 offseason.
The Nets are embarking on a rebuild after trading Mikal Bridges and reacquiring many of their future draft picks.

I can't imagine BRK would have any interest in rebuilding around a 36yo that will only play 60 games or so. I wonder if he would show up to media day dressed as a tank commander!

I get it from Jimmy's side, assuming his decision is money over winning. I don't thing is makes even the slightest bit of sense for BRK.

Highly doubt Brooklyn is interested. The source is flimsy at best and if there's any meat to this, Jimmy probably saw what PG13 got and suddenly changed his tune on sticking with Miami. Playoff performances aside, at least I know what I'm getting with PG13. No idea what Jimmy will show up.
