Chris Hansen Not Expected To Lead Bid For Seattle Expansion Team

Chris Hansen nearly completed the purchase and relocation of the Sacramento Kings to Seattle back in 2013, but sources say he is not expected to lead a bid for an expansion franchise. Hansen had the backing of Steve Ballmer with his efforts to buy the Kings, but the former Microsoft CEO bought the Los Angeles Clippers in 2014.
Hansen, however, is prepared to assist any successful bidder for the Sonics.
The ownership group of the NHL's Seattle Kraken are expected to be one of the favorites for an expansion team.
