Chicago Bulls forward Patrick Williams said in mid-July that his left foot felt good after surgery last season. At that time, Williams said he was running and jumping without pain. However, when the Bulls gathered in Miami for offseason workouts last month, Williams experienced discomfort in his left foot and had to shut down his activity for additional rest.

It's unclear if Williams will be ready for the start of training camp next week. The four-year veteran was shut down last season after playing in only 43 games. Williams then had surgery to repair a fracture in his left foot.

Chicago made a long-term investment of five years and $90 million for Williams this summer. The Bulls see Williams as having room to grow, as veterans like DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso moved on. Williams is also young enough to continue to develop, as they Bulls seem to be resetting their roster to some extent.

Sounds like those platinum shoes he bought once the ink dried were a bad idea after all.

I really liked him. Felt he was underrated, but now it seems like he’s injury prone.
