Victor Wembanyama Receives 77 Percent Of Votes In NBA GM Survey For Player To Start Franchise With

Victor Wembanyama received the most votes as the player NBA general managers would select to build a franchise around at 77 percent. Wembanyama also received the most votes as the best defensive player in the NBA at 40 percent.


Wembanyama was the unanimous winner of the 2024 NBA Rookie of the Year award. Wembanyama is predicted by many to to win Defensive Player of the Year and make an All-NBA team this season.


Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic each received 10 percent of the vote for the question of player to start a franchise with. Last season, Jokic was the leading vote-getter at 33 percent.

KG left MIN and was holding a trophy the following summer. We will see how KAT fares in a new location. Free agents don't want to be in MIN so they have always had a rough time building around their stars. This NYK roster is far better than anything KAT has been a part of.

No disrespect but I disagree.

1) The franchise's culture immediately becomes "Bron better like you or you're out."
2) Wembanyana is a freak or a freak. Unless injury takes that away, his trajectory really doesn't have a peer.
3) "Start a franchise" not, take your shot at a title.
4) Wemby under contract until 26-27 at $12 - $16 mill per year, Bron $52 million

To me 77% seems about right.
