Chris Paul's Leadership Being Well Received By Spurs' Young Players

During the offseaon, the San Antonio Spurs signed Chris Paul to a free agent contract and then acquired Harrison Barnes. The Spurs entered training camp with hopes of the two veterans bringing leadership to an otherwise young core. San Antonio has been particularly impressed by the way their young players have responded to Paul.

"There was some uncertainty, I would say, I wouldn't say there was concern," said Brian Windhorst on his podcast. "But there was some wonder from the Spurs how were all these young guys were going to adapt from dealing with these two veterans who were going to come in.

"To put it kindly, Chris Paul has a big voice on teams he is on.

"With Victor leading the way, the acceptance of Chris Paul's leadership technique has gone very well in San Antonio. Better than they thought, I am told. Particularly with Chris Paul running these de facto clinics on pick-and-roll play. And not just with Victor [Wembanyama]. They're raving in San Antonio on Stephon Castle."

Why would there be any concern? He’s literally what the team was missing, a true point guard and veteran leadership
