Lonzo Ball Set To Play In First Game In Nearly Three Years

Lonzo Ball is expected to play in his first game since January 2022 on Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. 


Ball has undergone multiple surgeries since suffering a torn meniscus. Ball underwent a rare double cartilage transplant surgery. Ball underwent the cartilage transplant surgery in May 2023.


The Bulls had a 27-13 record up until the last date Ball played a game, the best record in the Eastern Conference at the time.

Congrats to him. I’d play him no more than 15 minutes a game for the first 30 games though.

Probably right. I find it odd he's waited until final couple games of preseason to test his leg, figured he'd use all the games to see where he stands, it's not like preseason schedule is rigorous. It's worth remembering his major meniscus replacement surgery was almost 18 months ago, if he's not ready now is he ever going to be?

I'm excited for him. I'm concerned but only because there saying he may have lost athletism. I think this season for him will be heavily monitored and cautious. He may not even play meaningful minutes. Who's going to rely on him after his injury history. At this point he's probably going to the player all coaches fear to use because nobody wants to see him hurt again.
