New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins has had an outstanding preseason. That has Hawkins in line for a regular rotation spot, according to Pelicans head coach Willie Green.

"Absolutely," was Green's answer when asked if the second-year guard was a no-doubt-about-it rotation player.

Hawkins had an up-and-down rookie season. He averaged 7.8 points over 67 games, but shot just 38.2% from the field. Hawkins was mostly a three-point specialist as over 65% of his shots came from behind the arc.

This preseason, the 6-foot-5 guard has shown an expanded game. Hawkins has averaged 16.3 points on 50% shooting, on a wide variety of attempts. The Pelicans will be counting on Hawkins to help fill in for Trey Murphy III, who is expected to be limited to open the season due to a hamstring injury.

This headline does not indicate that he wasn't.

Excellent point. I really hope realgm will be telling me if Lebron will be in the Lakers rotation this year soon too.

That's an astute comparison- one of the greatest ever, versus a rookie who struggled on a bad team.
