The Oklahoma City Thunder and big man Alex Reese have agreed to a non-guaranteed contract. Reese will give Oklahoma City additional depth in their frontcourt, with Isaiah Hartenstein set to miss the beginning of the season due to a fractured left hand.
Reese went undrafted out of Alabama at the 2021 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-9 big man played a season in Luxembourg before spending last season with the Rip City Remix of the G League.
In 43 games with the Remix, Reese averaged 11.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.
Hartenstein is expected to miss at least the first five to six weeks of the season while he recovers from a small fracture on his shooting hand. The Thunder have also been without backup big men Jaylin Williams and Kenrich Williams. The former is recovering from a hamstring injury, while the latter is recovering from an offseason knee cleanup surgery.
