Jalen Suggs is reportedly looking for at least $30 million per season on his next contract extension with the Orlando Magic, sources told Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

The deadline for first- and second-round picks from the 2021 draft to sign a rookie-scale extension is Monday.

Suggs averaged 12.6 points and 2.7 assists in 75 games last season.

Isn't that overkill? He's a good player but, don't think numbers usually end up getting 15M?

Under this new CBA? I find it hard to believe that any team will be willing and/or able to give him that at this point in his career.

Moody got $13 million per over 3 years. I can’t see Suggs getting offered more than 3 years, $54 million

He shot 39% from 3 last year and played All-Defense 2nd team quality on the other end of the floor. I don't know that he's worth $30M a year, but last year was his best year by far. Nothing wrong with him trying to cash in on that success.

If I'm the Magic, I try to find a team friendly compromise or let him test the market and hope you don't have to match a crazy offer. The Magic definitely want to keep Suggs. I was a skeptic about his value going into last season. After last season, it's clear how he fits with the top end of the roster (Banchero/Wagner). Tough position to be in if you're the Magic.
