Jayson Tatum admits a weight was lifted when the Boston Celtics won the 2024 NBA Finals. Tatum knew he'd never be among the Celtics best players without winning a championship.

"To be a part of Celtics history, you have to have won a championship. We have 18 now. All the best players here have won a championship," Tatum said. "You are held to the highest standard. You at least have to win one. It felt good to get that. I’m happy about that."

Boston's superstar also knows the Celtics have to turn the page quickly after seeing Banner 18 raised to the rafters on opening night.

"Can we continue to want more? It’s not time for us to wait for people to attack us. No. What we did last [season] was special. But after ring night, [expletive] that because in a new season everyone is gunning for us in a championship," Tatum said about the upcoming season. "We have to get better one game at a time. That was when we were at our best last year. We didn’t skip no steps. We didn’t look past nobody."

I agree, for whatever reason I am not a fan of Tatum or these celtics and I used to always root for them when my team was out.

Just say you don't like him lol. This quote is no different than Lebron, or anybody else with the generic media answer. All athletes in every sport do it. What do you want him to say lol?? Gets in no trouble, sacrifices for his team, responsible father, no problems with coaches or teammates and that makes him bland because he doesn't have "aura".

Fair enough. I was doing some light stalking to try and figure out who your team is. Came across the post saying you’re a lifelong Laker hater and didn’t need to look any further as the rest matters less. We can hug it out now
