Giannis Antetokounmpo's Commitment To Bucks Being Monitored By Rival Teams

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Oct 22, 2024 6:47 pm

The future of Giannis Antetokounmpo with the Milwaukee Bucks is one of the most critical things being monitored by rival teams. Antetokounmpo committed to the Bucks with an extension entering the 23-24 season following their trade for Damian Lillard. Antetokounmpo didn't play during the Bucks' first round exit to the Indiana Pacers last year.

"They are very closely monitoring how this situation goes in Milwaukee," said Shams Charania on First Take. "How he looks. How he plays."

"These are the conversations Shams and I have when we talk to people in the league," said Brian Windhorst. "When Shams and I are talking to people in the league, this is what they're talking about. They're talking about what's going to happen with Giannis. What's going to happen with the Bucks. How are the Bucks going to be this year? Are they going to be good enough where Giannis is going to stay committed?"

Antetokounmpo cannot become a free agent until 2017.

No ****. You've been talking about Giannis leaving Milwaukee for practically a decade now. The man is damn near 30 already. ESPN needs to find a new superstar to start drama with that's actually young and in the realm of possibilities. This is getting tired.

The reason its coming up is the bucks are not good enough to win a title and have no trade assests and Dame has become a bust.. So teams would think with another poor season that maybe giannis wants out and the bucks would like to not pay the luxury tax for a team that cant get out of the first round.. If bucks were winning noone would be like oh lets see if we can get giannis

As long as Giannis and Dame are healthy come playoffs, they are good enough to win a title...

Should Bucks / Giannis part ways only 3 teams that have the legit assets for next 5 seasons to trade for that level of generational talent :

1) OKC - 22 draft picks (13 first round, 9 second round) + young roster
2) Spurs - 27 draft picks (15 first round, 12 second round) + young roster
3) Nets - 21 draft picks ( 13 first round, 8 second round ) + young roster

Trade examples :
-----------------------------------------------
OKC / Bucks :
* Giannis to OKC
* iHartenstein / I. Joe / Jalen Williams + 6 first round picks to OKC

Spurs / Bucks :
* Giannis to Spurs
* Vassell / Keldon / Sochan + 6 first round picks to Bucks

Nets / Bucks :
* Giannis / Connaughton to Nets
* Claxton / Cam Johnson / Cam Thomas + 6 first round picks to Bucks

Of course, all teams are always monitoring the status of all top players' situations.

Pretty sure he means a bust in milwaukee, which this year will tell the story on.
