James Wiseman has suffered a torn left Achilles tendon. Wiseman suffered the injury in Wednesday's game.
Wiseman signed a two-year deal with the Indiana Pacers this offseason. The Pacers hold a team option for 25-26.
In 17.3 minutes over 63 games last season with the Detroit Pistons, Wiseman averaged 7.1 points and 5.3 rebounds.

Maybe it's just confirmation bias or whatever but it sure seems like the injury bug is biting more and more

Dude is turning into Greg Oden #2, except Oden was actually decent when not injured.

Man, that's rough for him. It wasn't even a contact play.

Not only that but he had been looking pretty solid. This has been one of the few injuries in which I felt for the player. He was looking for a reset in a different scheme, he got it, and appeared to be doing well. The guy is up for Game 1 because it's Game 1 but also because it's against a former team with guys he knows in an arena that was recently home. He starts out strong and has the noncontact injury not even halfway through Game 1. Pretty horrible way to start the season for both he and the Pacers. The only positive I can glean from it is that James will plenty of time to get right before next season.
