LeBron James On Possibly Playing With Younger Son Bryce: That Would Be Pretty Cool

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Oct 31, 2024 12:37 pm

LeBron James knows he won't play in his original NBA home too many more times. That makes each visit to Cleveland that much more special for him.

"Every time I come here, it’s like, 'OK, how many more times will it be for me in this building?’ It could only be a couple more times. Maybe it’s only one more time now. I don’t know the answer," James told Cleveland.com. "But I know I’m on the other side of the fence than that previous fence. I know I don’t have many more times coming here and playing the game that I love, so I don’t take it for granted."

James' former teammate with the Cleveland Cavaliers Tristan Thompson recently said he wouldn't be surprised to see James play long enough to play with his younger son Bryce. This season, LeBron James is playing with his elder son Bronny on the Los Angeles Lakers. For his part, James found the idea a fun one to think about.

"Oh s—," LeBron said while laughing when Cleveland.com brought up Thompson’s comments. "Bryce is a senior. I don’t know. We’ll see. We’ll see. That would be pretty cool. It’s all about my mind and then seeing how my body reacts over these next couple of years."

Bryce James is considered a three-star recruit by most recruiting services. The 6-foot-4 senior shooting guard has picked up a few scholarship offers heading into his final high school season.

Really crazy stuff that all of this discussion has no interest in whether Bryce is actually any good or not, nevermind NBA material. It's just assumed if he's Lebron's son he'll get a shot at the NBA. Which is completely insane unless we're conceding Lebron can just put whoever is related to him on his NBA team because he feels like it.

Meanwhile in the real world Bryce is a decent high school player right now, probably a mid-major talent at best. He was the 6th best player on his so-so AAU team this summer and didn't start for his high school team this fall in some fall league games. He in no way projects as a high major college player or a NBA talent at this point.

There are countless players who have received a shot in the NBA because of their relation to a NBA player.

Missing my point entirely. Nowhere in this discussion about Bryce is there any mention of his worthiness for a NBA spot. Like, none. It's just assumed he's good enough.

Bron has informed Jeannie he is willing to sign a five year extension if she considers signing one of Savannah's frozen eggs to a ten day deal.

It doesn’t matter if he’s good enough. Again, there are countless players who have received a shot in the NBA because of their relation to a NBA player. Look up Dame’s cousin who played for Portland a few years ago.

Okay, I'll bite, curious to hear of the countless examples of an active player bringing in a relative who was in no way qualified to be a NBA player and getting that relative a spot on a roster. And we're not talking about a 'shot' because that is not what Bronny got, he got a guaranteed spot in the NBA.

Dame's cousin came up through the G League and was never on anything above a two-way, btw. And Portland did not have to use a draft pick on him, either.

Isiah Mobley (Evan's brother), Zoran Dragic, Caleb Martin and Thanasis Antekokounmpo all come to mind of late.

This is just getting hilariously sick. How about you just buy an expansion team (the league will help you out), The Brons, and it's all your family.

Countless? Please do share the list. All the recent ones did reasonably well in college and many were at top tier programs. Bronny is at or near bottom of the barrel at USC and in summer league.

lol Martin was a good college player and has earned every country he has gotten

Thenasis had an extensive pro career before making it in the NBA. Their paths have been nothing alike

Why stop there? Does Lebron have a daughter? A cat? Its a joke foisted on us by Lebron, Rich Paul and the Lakers. Just let it end.

Not to mention, Thanasis was in the league before Giannis was even drafted.

Isaiah Mobley, Zoran Dragic and Cody Martin (assuming that's who he meant because Caleb has had the better NBA career) are all legit (borderline) NBA talents too and their siblings don't have the pull to just get them a roster spot unlike Lebron.

Dame's cousin Keljin Blevins and JR Smith's brother Chris are good examples, and they were (deservingly so) ridiculed to no extent.

I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.
