Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis aggravated a left foot/ankle injury in his team's loss at the Detroit Pistons on Monday. Davis said postgame that he's been managing the injury since the summer, but needs to figure out what is causing him the pain.

"I'll talk to my trainer and just kind of figure out what exactly is going on," Davis said. "I've been managing it since this summer, honestly, and my goal for every game is to be on the floor. And I just kind of landed directly on the spot that's been killing me. So, we'll figure it out."

At one point in the second half, Davis went down and could be seen grabbing of his left foot/ankle, near his heel. After receiving treatment, Davis stayed in and finished the game.

The Lakers haven't ruled out Davis for the game in Memphis on Wednesday. But they are going to be cautious with their All-Star big man and will treat his situation as being day-to-day.

Lakers priority should have been to add front-court depth ( Center position ) - so that AD does not have to play out of positio

Bubble wrap AD / Lebron until playoffs -- no back to backs, Lebron < 30 mpg, AD < 31mpg

AD is a top 3 NBA center. He is playing his best position.

Absolutely AD is one of the top players in the league -- but he will not hold up playing 36mpg @ Center -- his is game is less rugged and more skill / finesse.

There are very few physical centers in the NBA anymore and there a very few players better equipped to guard those centers than AD. Most current NBA centers would have been PF's 20 years ago. It has become a much more skilled/finesse position than in the past.
