The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned Bronny James to the G League. James is expected to make his G League debut with the South Bay Lakers on Saturday.

James will be on the Lakers' NBA roster on Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers and then rejoin South Bay for Saturday's game.

James will only play in home games for South Bay as he begins to shuttle between both leagues.

Is this normal procedure for all 2nd rd picks that get sent to the G league?

I thought usually they get sent to the G league for X amount of weeks or months and they basically travel, practice, play etc all with the G league team even on the road.

I wonder if LeBron doesn’t like Bronny being far from him at any given time. That was probably the main reason Bronny picked USC for college instead of some out of state school with a better basketball program.

He is not a normal 2nd round pick. In no universe would this player be drafted by the league if his last name wasn’t James.

This whole Bronny thing is a circus. Regular rules don't apply. But we're all just "haters".

The closest thing these guys get to being authors is pressing "Ctrl+C"... followed by "Ctrl+V".

The league needs to take a hard look at his contract and aks themselves if they really believe this is okay.

Are we supposed to act shocked when he sucks in the G league as well?

He is not a normal 2nd round pick. In no universe would this player be drafted by the league if his last name wasn’t James.

But everyone keeps saying how we should treat him like a normal 2nd rd pick and not put unrealistic expectations on him. So which is it?

One could argue that Bronny is barely a G League prospect.
