Gregg Popovich Recovering From Mild Stroke

Gregg Popovich suffered a mild stroke on November 2nd and is expected to make a full recovery. The San Antonio Spurs have yet to determine a timeline for when he will return.

Mitch Johnson is serving as interim head coach in place of Popovich for the Spurs.

Honestly, he seems so dedicated to basketball that retiring entirely might not be very helpful. His wife passed away in 2018 and his kids must be adults by now so there probably isn't much for him to do if he's not coaching. Perhaps scaling back his responsibilities or something would be the best option

Joe Paterno died very quickly after he left Penn State. I think it was less than a year later. Hopefully that doesn't happen to Popovich when he retires. But Popovich is a little young to be talking like this about him. Paterno was like 85 when he died.
