Nets Open To Trading Anyone On The Roster

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Nov 19, 2024 4:06 pm

The Brooklyn Nets are expected to be open to trade talks, despite their competitive start to the season. Brooklyn isn't taking anyone off the table in trade talks.

One player the Nets are open to moving is guard Cam Thomas. The high-scoring Thomas did not reach an agreement on an extension with Brooklyn this past offseason. That has him widely considered to be available.

In addition, even though Nic Claxton and Cameron Johnson are signed to long-term contract, they are both available in trade discussion as well. Brooklyn is also expected to look at moving veterans on their roster, including Dennis Schroder and Bojan Bogdanovic.

The Nets seem to be building something very strong.

I hope they do not trade Cam Thomas or Claxton now. They should build around them.

But, CamJo and DFS have a lot of value for teams already looking to make noise in the playoffs. They likely trade them to gain a few more 1sts and maybe a young player.

Schroder is someone who they can either keep and use or trade now to a team that wants to win now.

I think they keep WIlson and Clowney to see what they have in them over the next 2-4 years.

It seems like several teams have interest in their talent as they are too talented too early in the rebuild and are looking to draft high this summer as well as sign a FA.

Dennis, DFS and Cam Thomas will probably all be dealt by the deadline. I don't think they will get a lot for them but Nets have shown they can draft well.

I cannot see them trading Cam Thomas. It would not make sense unless they were blown away with a young stud and a massive pick haul.

Easiest way to tank is to trade your PG and move someone incompetent or who just likes to score in his place; oh and hire a coach who can't figure out a way around that.

Hmm.

Jordi could be a problem...

They might want to sign him if they aren't going to trade him? DFS and Dennis must go nets want to full on tank this season they need to get worse much worse the east is soo bad and they want to be at the bottom.

Those players aren't multiple firsts you would get both for one first and Dennis needs to go because Brooklyn needs to be soooo bad to get to the bottom of the east where they want to be for the coming draft.

For sure they have some decent role players but it's a matter of how much they demand.. You think they would want to tank hard and be up for trading now..

Biggest issue with trading with the nets is that they are a first apron team..

Still Late pre Season.

All options remain open for them.

Could be summarized in three:

1) Give the guys a shot. Negociate with the ones who deliver. Trade the ones who doesn't. See where that leads you.

2) Dismantle everything at side hoping to collect asses* and/or waive a Flagg and/or dress in Denim.

3) Do nothing and let the market make those decissions for you.

Curious enough what path they will eventually choose.
At this point I'd say they are leaning to 3) but that could change at any moment.

(Sorry. I meant assets*)
