LeBron James Remains Committed To Lakers

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Dec 11, 2024 4:01 pm

While the Golden State Warriors have interest in trading for LeBron James, it is continued to believe that his preference is to remain with the franchise. James is hoping the Lakers improve the roster and they are on the market for a big man and a guard.

"I'm a gigantic actions over words guy and LeBron's actions at last year's trade deadline when he rejected the interest from the Warriors last summer," said Brian Windhorst on Get Up. "He sat there and offered to take less money from the Lakers if they could find somebody in free agency. They didn't and then he went ahead and signed a three-year contract with a no trade clause anyway. All of those actions make it extremely clear he wants to be a Laker. That said, we have two months basically, two months from right now is when the trade deadline is- if he changes his mind, I promise you it will get public and we will all know. But right now he wants to be a Laker and he's focused on having the Lakers help him get some defensive players."

My deepest sympathies, Lakers fans. LOL...And I say that as a big James fan. However, the truth is out there. While, he is undoubtedly still a great offensive player, which is amazing given his age, his defense is just abysmal at this point. This is to be expected, given that age. For this Lakers team with a dearth of defensive talent, that is a bad thing. They should be, as well as he, too, looking to unload him on a good defensive team that struggles offensively. Too much salary tied up in him (and AD, but that's a different conversation) to "add" anything that would make them a true contender. But, looks like Jeannie wants to sell tickets and Lebron certainly still does that. A "re-build" isn't on her agenda.

It’s always better to say what a player thinks based on what he did five months ago than for a reporter to ask him today.

So why not ask him? Oh, he left the team for personal reasons? Hmmm

It can always be changed. Yes, I know that's up to him, but if he really wants to win. Maybe, he doesn't.

He did not sign a 3 year contract he signed a 2 year contract with a player option.. That said I am sure he would opt out and take less if they can find some help.. The lakers need to make a trade for a 3 and D perimeter defender period then ok maybe a big man but woulf probably prefer 2 3 & D perimeter defenders.. can they get that with 2 picks.. I dunno DFs has to be traded he isn't worth more than one 1st.. who else is there..

On any given possession he is a better defender than Kyrie or Steph so you need the personal around to cater for that as they do.. The biggest issue the lakers have is zerooo perimeter defence.. Dlo is a witches hate.. Reeves tries but isn't atheletic enough rui also not atheletic enough.. So the most atheletic guys are 39yr old Lebron and AD.. Now Vando can defend but can't shoot and hasn't played in 2 years so forget that.. Gabe is ok but too short.. They just do not have the role players because if you look last year vs denver AD AND LBJ outplayed Jokic and Murray but denver role players were far superior.. Look at Boston's role players absurdly good 3 and D players who can also ball handle... That is the recipe for winning and you can see even though jokic is outstanding the depth of the nuggets has been compromised and now they look ok but also completely vulnerable in any playoff series.

Actions over words, yet he is currently away from the team

No matter how Windhorst tries to spin it, LeBron is committed to LeBron.
