Warriors Still Interested In Acquiring Star

The Golden State Warriors are getting NBA trade season going by trading for Dennis Schroder of the Brooklyn Nets. However, the Warriors are still thinking bigger on the trade market.

Golden State is still interested in pursuing a trade for a star player. Because of the timing of acquiring Schroder before December 16, the Warriors would be able to aggregate the veteran guard's $13 million contract in a subsequent deal.

General Manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. has been on the hunt for a star to put with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. The Warriors are looking to make the most of the years their star duo have left by adding talent around them.

Golden State has a variety of young players and veterans on tradable contracts to offer other teams. The Warriors also didn't give up any first-round picks in the Schroder deal. That leaves Dunleavy with multiple tradeable first-round picks to offers in deals for a star.

Im assuming the warriors are going to be very careful with their cap position (they want a proper star to justify taking on long term big salary). In years gone by, that would have been a great move for them, but do those players move the needle enough to justify the massive cap hit under the new cap regime

Nothing would make me happier as a Lakers fan than to see Bron gone from our roster.

Bronnie goes with him. No take backs!
