Alex Caruso and the Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to a four-year, $81 million contract extension through the 28-29 season. Caruso was set to become a free agent this offseason as he was on a $9.9 million expiring contract.

Caruso has been one of the NBA's best perimeter defenders since emerging with the Los Angeles Lakers as part of their 2020 championship. Caruso left the Lakers to sign a four-year, $37 million deal with the Chicago Bulls during the 2021 offseason.

The Thunder acquired Caruso from the Bulls last June in exchange for Josh Giddey.

Jeannie buss and Rob pelinka should be locked up for letting AC walk it was criminal.. He was tradable for a first round pick or even better he was a starting calibre player they really needed and need now.. its a joke he signed for 9mil a year..

OKC have a 2 year window until they have to extend Chet and Williams. After that they will be forced to trade most of the laxury role players they have now.

He does a lot of the intangibles that helps the team win games. defense, energy and grit can go a long way sometimes.

I get that he’s a great defender but he’s entirely useless on the offensive side of the court. He’s basically a Ronnie Brewer, Thabo Sefolosha, Andre Roberson type player yet none of them ever made this much cash or even close to it (even adjusted for salary cap) lol
