Luka Doncic could miss an extended period of time with a calf injury suffered in the first half of the Dallas Mavericks' loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Doncic left the arena on crutches and will undergo an MRI on Thursday.
"It stings for sure for all of us," said Kyrie Irving. "Praying for Luka just to have a speedy recovery. However long the timetable is, we're going to have to adjust. It's just the nature of the business. Hopefully, he just takes his time and comes back when he's ready."
Doncic had a contusion on the same calf in October. Doncic will be ineligible for regular season awards if he misses just 10 more games this season.
In 21 games this season, Doncic is averaging 28.8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.1 assists in 36.6 minutes. Doncic also has a 24.6 PER.
