The Sacramento Kings are not planning on conducting an in-season coaching search and will give Doug Christie the opportunity to prove he is worth consideration for the job long-term, sources tell The Athletic.

Christie was elevated to interim head coach following the dismissal of Mike Brown. Christie met with the Kings' front office immediately after Brown was fired and accepted their offer a promotion on an interim basis.

Christie left ahead of Jay Triano, who has prior head coaching experience.

8 coaches in 12 years, all of them on huge multi-year multi-million dollar contacts.

The world, and the Sacramento kings, are insane.

Brown is not a great coach... he has his moments but those moments fade quickly. I'd say the Kings deserve better.

The team was doing perfectly fine before DeMar DeRozan showed up.

The blame is squared on Monte McNair and Vivek.
