The Miami Heat have "no interest" in taking back Bradley Beal's contract in a potential deal with the Phoenix Suns involving Jimmy Butler, sources told Bobby Marks of ESPN.

Beal is owed $110 million over the next two seasons.

The Suns would need to find a third team should they still want to acquire Butler.

The Heat are unable to take back more salary in a deal due to being an apron team. The team is also reportedly trying to trade Butler as soon as possible.

The Warriors are no longer considered a viable option for Butler.

Many around the league are skeptical that Butler will be dealt due to trade restrictions making it difficult to move Butler's salary, according to Tim Bontemps.

We've been talking about this since Beal signed that deal; nobody is going to want to take on that contract... and then PHX did. Surely there is no other team out there willing to take the leap.

I wasn't surprised when WSH decided to offer him that deal. They're desperate to hold onto any version of a marquee player.

I was shocked when PHX was foolish enough to trade for Beal and his contract.

Maybe it's understandable if PHX lacked star power. But they already had KD and Book.

Trading for Nurk was bad enough. Trading for Beal was a mind-boggling decision.

Trading for Nurk was genius. They got exactly what they wanted out of Ayton for half the price. They also got some depth, some of which worked out and some didn't. What is POR going to do with Ayton? They're stuck with him.

I'm pretty sure KD dictated that trade... as in trade for Beal or you aren't getting me.

They already had KD prior to the beal trade.. They did it on change of ownership.. There is nothing wrong with Nurk he is ok exactly the player you would expect for what he is on.. Beal is not a superstar he is good but not worth max but then the other issue is him and Kevin booker and even at time KD basically play the same way so it's not overly a helpful roster construction Butler would improve them a lot but I doubt enough.. TBH suns will have to traded Booker or KD and basically reset because they need to balance out the roster.. KD is still playing great basketball and can get a decent amount back in terms of some role players and picks.

The issue in trading for KD is getting to his salary number without giving up current depth. In most cases it would take two starters. I can't see a good team that would get better from the trade and KD is old enough that you do it for this season or not at all. The exception might be a middling team like DET. KD for Harris, Hardaway and Holland, or something of that nature. They make some noise, sell some tickets and possibly win a playoff round. (Not Likely.) I could see them working their way into that 4/5 seed matchup and avoiding CLE, BOS and NYK.

Booker is the easiest of the three to trade. He's the cheapest, youngest and on a longer contract... He's also the player that the Suns would like to be building around for the future.

I don't see a reason to move Beal unless they are trying to lose or trying to save money. They don't control their own picks for a while now, so losing is out. They have three tradeable 2nds if they want to try and move him for expiring deals to save money, but to who? DET again? That seems far less likely.

Agree they did well to dump Ayton and his contract. I don't particularly dislike Nurk. Seems like a decent guy. I just don't see a team expecting to reach the finals with him as the starting C. I was a little rough on him there though. :D

IDK, if your 5th starter is averaging a double-double, you're probably doing OK. The biggest differences between Ayton and Nurk is that Ayton thought he was the franchise player and Nurk is a better passer. He isn't a top 10 center, but he isn't the problem there either.
