Kawhi Leonard Not In Hurry To Break Minutes Restriction: 'I'm Taking My Time'

Kawhi Leonard said that he was in no rush to break his minutes restriction since recently returning from his knee injury.

"I'm taking my time. I done that in the past and it led me on the bench, so I'm good where I'm at," said Leonard on Tuesday.

Leonard has played 61 minutes over three games, totaling 26 points and 10 rebounds.

"I feel good and as long as I'm feeling good on the court, I'm able to move quickly, get to my spots. That's all I'm looking for," added Leonard.

Leonard also missed a game last week due to wildfires in the Los Angeles area.

The Clippers are currently 21-17 on the year.

He took his time his whole career so this comes as no surprise.

Apples and oranges

at the age/experience Zion has now, Kawhi had already won DPOTY 2x and been a Finals MVP after working his way into the league and starting lineup, from a late lotto pick out of a non power conference school.

KL has kept his weight down and delivered the highest of highs (2x Finals MVP, 7x all def, etc.. )
His body has just betrayed him (and his quote about "i've *rushed* back and reinjured" has proven over time)

Zion has been consistently overweight and has accomplished comparatively nothing for his team or his career.
This despite being the top recruit int he country, playing for the #1 team in the country (literally), being coached by K, alongside 6 NBA teammates during practice and an 8th top-50 recruit... and getting drafted 1st overall.

By NBA star standards: Zion was given everything but achieved nothing.

My comment wasn't downplaying Kawhi's success; he's done a lot for the teams he's been apart of and for the league in general.

I'm talking about in terms of them always sitting games out.

I think that's apples and oranges as well. Kawhi is a skinny dude. You can't attribute that to work ethic. If all Zion ate was apples and oranges he would still have 40 lbs on Kawhi. If anything, you could point to Kawhi as evidence that chronic lower body injuries are not necessarily weight related. (Losing a few lbs. never hurt!)

Kawhi gave the spurs & raptors rings. The only thing he’s given the clippers is grief & heartache. I love it! Take your time Kawhi. Your owner can afford it. What a joke of a franchise

I see

Kawhi is different for me.

Lots of guys sit out and/or miss a ton of games -- Simmons, Embiid, Rose, PG13, heck Jimmy etc

Kawhi is the only one i can think of in the load mgmt era who actually has bona fide champion/ pantheon HOF credentials
