Dejounte Murray Tears Achilles, Out For Season

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Feb 1, 2025 7:14 am

Dejounte Murray suffered a season-ending Achilles tear on Friday night against the Boston Celtics, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

Murray suffered the injury when chasing his own miss after driving to the lane.

The injury is on Murray's right leg.

"Extremely difficult, when you see a guy that means so much to our team and puts the work in go down like that," said Willie Green after the game.

Murray was averaging 17.9 points and 7.6 assists on the season.

Murray, Zion Williamson, and Brandon Ingram did not share the court once this season.

Not trying to throw shade on a man whole he's down, but DJM has never once played on a winning team. Spurs were horrible when he was nearly averaging a triple double for them. Atlanta couldn't space the floor with him out there. The pelicans hold the third worst record in the west with him out there. I have a feeling this injury will prove to a be a positive for the Pelicans moving forward.. in addition the value on sub 33% 3 point shooters is only going to diminish more. Great player, wrong league.

You are salty!

This team has been broken from top to bottom all season. Murray could have shot 5% better on three's and it wouldn't have mattered.
