The Philadelphia 76ers aren't shopping Paul George, but that hasn't kept teams from calling to express interest. The latest teams to show interest in trading for George were the Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors have been active and engaged on any number of All-Stars ahead of the trade deadline. Golden State had previously pursued George via sign-and-trade before he chose to sign with Philadelphia. The Hawks would represent a pivot, for a franchise that has been building up through the draft and by retaining their own players.

George is in the first year of the four-year, $211.6 million contract he signed with the Sixers this past offseason. This first season with the Sixers hasn't gone as planned, as George has missed 18 games. The veteran wing has also struggled to get going on the court, putting up the lowest stats since he became an All-Star in 2013.

If the Sixers can get off his horrible contract this early it might be the smartest thing the franchise has done in 30 years.

Unfortunately, this is the best news of the season for the 76ers. And how did Luka get traded before Embiid?

The hawks did a poor job of maintaining picks.. wasting them on a guy who puts up great numbers (DJM) but does not contribute to winning basketball. Only to turn around and shop him. They're lucky Dyson Daniels panned out the way he did.

Atlanta sure has bungled what could have been some decent years, I feel bad for the fans.

The flipside is the Pelicans (who are still loaded with good young players) threw away DD and messed up their cap even more than it already is
