Kevin Durant Doubtful For Wednesday's Game Amid Trade Rumors
Kevin Durant has been downgraded to doubtful by the Phoenix Suns for Wednesday's game at the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a left ankle sprain. The injury designation comes amid reports that the Suns are willing to listen to trade offers on Durant ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline.
Durant is just 26 points shy of reaching 30,000 for his career, which would be a full circle moment for him should he reach the mark at Oklahoma City where he played from 2008 until 2016.
The Suns have been attempting to acquire Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat, but have come up against roadblocks in sending out Bradley Beal. Phoenix's chances of competing for a title have appeared remote barring a major trade, which casts doubts about the future of Durant with the franchise.
The Golden State Warriors are among the teams who have registered interest in Durant. Durant left the Warriors in 2019 to sign with the Brooklyn Nets.
