LeBron James was shocked by the Los Angeles Lakers' decision to trade Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Doncic going so far as to initially believing it was a "hoax." James expressed how he has no concerns over the direction of the Lakers now that they will build around Doncic.
"We heard from everybody," said Brian Windhorst on Get Up on Wednesday. "We have now heard from Luka. We have heard from Anthony Davis. We have heard from Kyrie. We have heard from LeBron. We have heard from Rob Pelinka. We have heard from Nico Harrison.
"And everything says... I know there's conspiracy theories out there and everything. There is no conspiracy. Nobody knew. None of them were previously consulted. It hit all of them out of the blue.
"This was a decision made by Nico Harrison. Ratified by coach Jason Kidd. Negotiated with Rob Pelinka. That's it.
"LeBron doesn't want out. LeBron isn't going to retire. Did you see those highlights? Does LeBron look like he's at the end? There's no conspiracy here. It's just a shocking event in the NBA."
Windhorst added that this is the first time in years where a team James is on has made a major trade without him being looped in on it.
