Stephen Curry Spoke With Kevin Durant About Warriors' Return

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Feb 6, 2025 3:24 pm

Stephen Curry spoke with Kevin Durant this week about potentially rejoining the Golden State Warriors, but the takeaway was that a reunion was unlikely due to how the ownership group and front office had "underestimated" Durant's coldness about the proposition.

The Warriors and Phoenix Suns held serious talks on a Durant trade, but those broke off when it became clear that he didn't want to be dealt back to Golden State.

Curry and Durant have maintained a good relationship and were teammates with Team USA as they won the gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Warriors later pivoted to their trade for Jimmy Butler on Wednesday.

It's clear as day that KD wanted to go the LeBron route, taking two more franchise players and claiming to be the man if they win.

KD thought he would be able to do so when he won with the Ws, but the media didn't give him that even though he was the MVP in the final (I think he deserved the MVP for sure). Curry's just too good and cast too big a shadow on him. He wouldn't want to play with Curry again, who did it twice with his own team without such a lame move.
