Adelson/Dumont Family Says 'Absolutely No Plans To Move' Mavericks

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Feb 7, 2025 11:40 pm

The Dallas Mavericks' surprising trade of Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers last week has created speculation that the Adelson/Dumont family could explore relocating the franchise to Las Vegas if their attempts to legalize gambling in Texas are unsuccessful. The Mavericks have released the following statement in response to that speculation:

“The Adelson and Dumont Families have already started and are committed to investing and building in Dallas/Ft. Worth. The families have absolutely no plans to move the team out of North Texas.”

The Adelson/Dumont family purchased controlling interest in the Mavericks last season from Mark Cuban at a valuation of $3.5 billion.

No, he doesn't. They lied to him. Patrick Dumont, Miriam Adelson's son in law runs the show now. That was my point

Really? Thought I saw a quote from Cuban himself few months ago that he runs the basketball operations still.

Cuban is too smart of a businessman to not get it writing that he would run basketball operations if he truly wanted it. He knows business is all about lies and deceptions.

Well I'll just give you the source then, it happened a few months ago. Cuban got played. Cuban's not even all that smart, he made his money in the first place by selling his defective company, broadcast.com, to Yahoo at the right time before the tech bubble crash

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/mavericks-mark-cuban-no-longer-has-control-of-basketball-operations-and-why-this-is-good-for-dallas-future/

Cuban knew about the Adelsons' aspirations to get gambling legalized in Texas when he sold to them but Nico Harrison would have been fired before he could even make the trade if Cuban still had a real say
