The Philadelphia 76ers are signing two-way player Justin Edwards to a standard contract. Edwards' new deal with the Sixers will be for two seasons with a team option for next season.

Edwards has emerged as a key rotation player for Nick Nurse. Originally, Edwards got playing time because the 76ers were missing so many other players. The second-round pick made the most of them.

In 22 games (seven starts), Edwards has averaged 8.1 points on 47% shooting, while grabbing 3.1 rebounds per game.

By giving Edwards a team option for next season, Philadelphia can decline that option and make the young forward a restricted free agent this summer. Then, Edwards and the Sixers can work out a long-term deal.
