Daniel Theis To Sign With AS Monaco

Veteran center Daniel Theis is headed back to Europe after being waived in the NBA. Theis has reached an agreement with AS Monaco. He's expected to join the team soon for the stretch run of their season.
Theis was recently waived by the Oklahoma City Thunder, following a salary-shedding trade from the New Orleans Pelicans. Theis reportedly had offers from NBA teams, but wanted to go where he'd play a bigger role. The 32-year-old big man turned down an offer from Panathinaikos to play for Monaco.
Theis returns to European basketball for the first time since 2017. Since then, he's played for the Boston Celtics (twice), Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, LA Clippers, before finishing his NBA run with the Pelicans.
