The Philadelphia 76ers have ruled out Joel Embiid for Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls. Embiid and the 76ers are consulting with doctors to determine whether he will be able to continue his season. Embiid also underwent new imaging on Monday.
Treatment options such as injections haven't worked yet for Embiid and he may need to undergo surgery. Embiid suffered swelling in his left knee after Saturday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets.
Embiid tore his meniscus during the 23-24 season, but returned for the playoffs and to participate in the Olympics with the United States.
