While the Phoenix Suns did not trade Kevin Durant ahead of the 2025 trade deadline, a deal ending his tenure with the franchise appears inevitable. Durant was traded to the Suns by the Brooklyn Nets at the 2023 deadline and they won one series when they defeated the Los Angeles Clippers.

"They're going to trade him," said Brian Windhorst on NBA Today on Wednesday. "And he knows that. There's been a couple of opportunities where he could have criticized them for trying to trade him. He has not done that. He has been very professional about this. I expect that to continue throughout the regular season. He's going to try to win every game that he's out there.

"I think he's handled this very appropriately."

Windhorst added that "everybody's intentions are crystal clear."

The Golden State Warriors were furthest along with the Suns on a Durant trade, but the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat and Memphis Grizzlies also held some level of talks.

That will be his 4th team in 7 years...it's a KD problem, not anyone or anything else.

That trade to get KD was utterly disastrous for the Suns.

They gave up all this for KD:

Mikal Bridges
Cameron Johnson
Juan Pablo Vaulet
2023 first-round pick (from Phoenix)
2025 first-round pick (from Phoenix)
2027 first-round pick (from Phoenix)
2028 first-round pick swap (from Phoenix)
2028 second-round pick (from Milwaukee)
2029 first-round pick (from Phoenix
2029 second-round pick (from Milwaukee)

4 #1s 2 swaps and 2nds then:

Bridges was traded from the Nets to the Knicks for:

Bojan Bogdanovic
Mamadi Diakite
Shake Milton
unprotected 1st-round pick in 2025
unprotected 1st-round pick in 2027
unprotected 1st-round pick in 2029
unprotected 1st-round pick in 2031
unprotected pick swap in 2028
top-four protected 2025 1st-round pick via Bucks
2nd round pick in 2025

Considering the Nets got 5 #1 picks out of Bridges it's like the Suns gave up 9 #1 picks and Cam Johnson. plus a bunch of swaps and 2nds.

If they trade Durant and None they could get all of that back, no?
