Suns Want To 'Pivot And Reload' Around Devin Booker

The Phoenix Suns could embark on a "pivot and reload" around Devin Booker this offseason, according to Mat Ishbia. The Suns have had a disappointing season and are expected to trade Kevin Durant and could also revisit their options on Bradley Beal. The Suns' front office believes the team isn't as far from contention as the current standings indicate.
As a source close to Ishbia said, "For better or worse, there's no 'trust the process' to Mat Ishbia."
"I'll just say that we're going to evaluate in the offseason," Ishbia said. "We're going to find a way to win, and it's probably a lot easier winning with Kevin Durant than without him. But at the same time, yes, if we're not good enough in this iteration of the Phoenix Suns, we're going to find a way to be better next year."
Ishbia also defended where the Suns are under his leadership.
"People like to say, 'Oh, he's too involved.' What?" said Ishbia, who splits his time between Phoenix and Pontiac, Michigan, where the headquarters of his family's United Wholesale Mortgage are located. "Honestly, you think I watched film on the players we're drafting? They say, 'We like Ryan Dunn.' I say, 'OK, how do we get him?' I don't watch film, I don't interview the player. It's just silly what people talk about."
Ishbia considers it his obligation as an owner to "give the best resources, give the support, make sure that we make it a destination in Phoenix, create a great fan experience."

Revisit what options on Bradley Beal? You mean having him deny a trade again and continue being stuck with him because acquiring him was stupid? Is that the revisit we're to expect, Mat?

Imagine how much more appealing an option this would be if:
1) They still had Mikal Bridges
2) They still had control of their picks
3) They hadn't traded for Bradley Beal
They specifically made moves to make it impossible to pivot. It was the biggest all-in play I've ever seen.

The only pivoting this guy can do is selling brads expiring in a couple of years. This summer? He's not doing ****.
All though about he no trade clause, without KD I don't really understand what brad thinks is gonna happen in Phoenix. He may as well as go somewhere to compete.

Beal's NTC isn't that big of a hurdle. After this debacle of a season, where despite having a career best .607 TS%, Beal was made out to be the source of all their problems and the butt of all the jokes... Trust me, he want's to leave.
PHX won't get a positive return for Beal, but if they can turn one big, bad contract into a few smaller bad contracts... that's a win.

Around Bradley Beal is more realistic. He is the only one on their team has NTC

I feel horrible for Suns fans. This is the biggest failure I have seen in 3 decades. Now Durant wants out because they shopped him without his permission or even the discussion.
Even if he was dealt or stayed it doesn’t matter in the long run. Once they traded for Beal instead of a PG or a PG and a big without depth they had no chance. They need to get off Beal fast and just trade everyone for assets and rebuild if they are smart. I would trade Durant and Booker and let Beal be on the worst team if they can get their own picks back fast. Let him do what he did in WAS since he doesn’t care about winning.

Speaking of big contracts. Turn KD, Richards and #30 into Jakob Poeltl, RJ Barrett, Gradey Dick and Ochai Agbaji.

PHX does that all day if picks are coming back the other way. They aren't paying to move one of the best players in BB history... but maybe you meant Beal instead of KD. In that case you can have #30.

He wants out because he wants out, the team has been mediocre for two years and has no real flexibility. The team they put out there just didn't work, no point making it about anything other than that.

What if they constantly throw fart bags under Beal’s door and then he asks to leave Phoenix and you can trick a team like the old Knicks to take him? Maybe the Wizards will take him back?!

If you are the Heat and can get the last 2 seasons of high productivity KD but you had to take Beal with him and you got a 1st and you only give up TH and DRob and crap other than them do you do it? Beal agrees to come and wants to live in Miami.
Ware
Bam
JJJ
KD
Best available PG
Beal - 6th
Jovic - 7th
Duncan Robinson - 8th
Beal is the 6th man

Even taking Beal, I don't think you're getting a first with Kevin Durant.

Can't. Second apron says hi.

The deal works without Richards or Agbaji. They could just do that in a 2nd (wink, wink) deal.

Booker is going to be pissed when he's the only one there after all this. It might be him, a good young guy who is like a 4th on a great team, and a bunch of picks and maybes. It is going to get weird fast this off-season. Thanks Flex! He really ruined everything for this team once he became an "insider"
