Memphis Grizzlies general manager Zach Kleiman met with the media to briefly discuss the firing of head coach Taylor Jenkins. Kleiman emphasized several times that the decision to fire Jenkins was "mine and mine only" and that Grizzlies player weren't consulted on the move. Kleiman also said firing Jenkins was "in the best interest of the team."

"Urgency is a core principle of ours," said Kleiman. "So, (I) decided to go on with the move."

Despite speaking of urgency, the Grizzlies GM said the team is being realistic about how much can change with only two weeks to go in the regular season.

"There’s realistic expectations. There’s not going to be time to install a bunch of things this time of year," Kleiman said. "My expectations are clarity of direction and we’ll see what we can do. We’ll see what we can execute."

I don't care who made the decision... But I would like to know why the decision was made. Tell us more about that.
