Ja Morant Under Investigation By NBA For Finger Gun Gesture At Warriors' Bench

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Apr 2, 2025 6:22 pm

The NBA is investigating Ja Morant for his potential use of finger gun motions toward the bench of the Golden State Warriors during Tuesday's loss by the Memphis Grizzlies.

The league will also examine a gesture made by Buddy Hieled ahead of Morant.

Morant was suspended for the first 25 games of the 23-24 season for showing a firearm on social media.

Investigate...like breakdown the component parts of the fingerpoint, millisecond by millisecond? I hope they broadcast it. Sounds compelling.

The NBA, apparently. And this wouldn't even be something notable had it not been for Morant having been busted with *actual* guns and what not. Dude just doesn't learn or care enough to take away anything from it.

You guys can’t be this dull. You ever take a look at how f-ed our world is right now? Kids are watching these players and their every move. If Ja has no clue what he’s doing it’s because he’s grown up in a world where gun violence and mimicking gun violence is normalized. Sad world we live in

Nothing wrong with liking guns. His suspension was dumb too. He didn't do anything.

There IS something wrong with guns when it’s related to and reinforces gun violence. That’s what this is. You wanna talk about hunting or for sport? That’s not what’s being promoted here and that’s a different conversation.

You do know that these same kids are watching YouTube and social media and are being exposed to much worse than a gesture that years ago would of gone almost unnoticed.

The real problem today is we make a big deal about EVERYTHING! While I cannot attest to what Ja's meaning was behind said gesture, it's simply that, a gesture. What's next...he or she stuck their tongue out at me so we need to make sure it's not sexual harassment. Give me a break.

Stop trying to police everything everyone does.

So, I'm all about ragging on Ja Morant for poorly managing literally everything about... everything, but I have to say, I'm with Cage here. We need to just stop caring so much about what an excited young man is doing in a moment of high-adrenaline competition. He isn't gonna shoot anyone. We know this. It's just some jocularity from a guy who is already under the gun from the suits.
