Calvin Booth 'Dismayed' That Russell Westbrook Played Ahead Of Jalen Pickett

The tension between Michael Malone and Calvin Booth arose from Booth wanting Malone to play younger players he drafted instead of the veterans on the roster.


Booth was reportedly "dismayed" that Malone played Russell Westbrook over Jalen Pickett down the stretch of recent games.


Malone and Booth were both fired by the Nuggets on Tuesday.


It was reported that the growing tension between the coach and general manager had turned into a "cold war."

Rightly so. However both of them deserve their firings - Booth for trading for Westbrick and Malone for playing him.

Don't think they traded for him. I believe he was traded to the Jazz by the Clippers, and the Jazz bought him out.

Yeah, you're right - technically they just offered him the 3 million option, so they didn't waste an asset, but my point still stands - this is not a player you want on that team, even if it's for free.
